I can answer the first question, Airman in the RAF have a rank and a trade. Your man's trade was a medical orderly. Your man's rank was leading air craftsman, (LAC) bar one, bottom of the pecking order.

The filming refers to the annual photographing of his record card for archiving purposes.

The hand written miscellaneous remarks refer to James Quinn, the last one recording that he’s employed as a burns orderly and reference should be made to the M T E & D (Medical Training Establishment & Depot) before posting him overseas.

I suspect that would be so to ensure his specialism wasn’t wasted by sending him overseas where there wasn’t a burns unit or removing him from his position at the time without providing a suitable replacement.

From the dates in his record card that probably refers to the Medical Training Establishment and Depot, at Halton; you’ll find operational records preserved at the National Archives, Kew in records ref AIR 29; they are not available online.
