My grandfather George Matthew Richardson MM & Bar was a private in the NF in the Great War.
His Medal Card gives his number as 4214 and the Date of Gazette as 11th October 1916.
And then, written across: - Awarded Bar 16-8-1917.
But by then he seems to have been transferred to the 13th Bn.
It also gives refs to 'Registered Paper' but I don't know what all this means.
Anyone out there any ideas as to what he did to win his medals?
