Hello.

I would like to have a look thro' the rolls for the Bruma 1930-32 clasp to the India General Service medal to the Royal Tank Corps (Regiment)

Any idea where I might find this ?

I found N.W.Frontier 1930-31, Mohmand 1933 & N.W. Frontier 1935 OK, but not the Burma one.... :-(

Should be in W100/496 but the Tank Corps aren't listed, see http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/catalogue/displaycatalogu...

The Burma 1930-32 rolls and NW Frontier 1930-31 rolls are mixed up together.
For something I'm working on I have downloaded all the pages containing entries for Burma 1930-32 but don't recall any for the Royal Tanks. Members of the Royal Tanks did earn the clasp NW Frontier 1930-31.
I'm at work now but when I get home tonight I will check the Burma roll but frankly doubt if anybody from the Royal Tanks or Royal Armoured Corps was there. It was mainly action in support of the civil police and they wouldn't have needed any heavy fire power. For example, only 6 officers of the Royal Artillery earned the Burma 1930-32 clasp, I think they were in staff jobs..

The Royal Tanks Corps was not in Burma.

The Royal Tanks Corps in India were all Armoured Car Companies, or Light Tank Companies, mainly on the North West Frontier.

For details, see the FIBIS Fibiwiki page Royal Tank Corps

Ditto what Maureen said, some of those units also served in China, none of them served in Burma, at least not as a full unit, I suppose that it's possible that if there had been a need such as a period of civil unrest, one or more small detachments might have been sent to Burma temporarily.

At that time it was called the Royal Tank Corps, it wasn't titled as the Royal Tank Regiment until 1939.
