They have a lot of materials about Russian Army military personnel of 18-20 century. They can also do genealogic research. Lists of generals, officers, soldiers and clerks of the Military Ministry for the period of 1720-1900 (Fund 489), history of military service of officers (1881-1917) (Fund 409) and lists by seniority of generals and officers for 1737-1917 (funds 407 and 408).
For them to provide archive research, they need the following information:
1. For the period of 18-beginning of 20 century- Last Name, First Name, Patronymic, time and place of service (number of the regiment or a military institution).
2. For the period 1816-1881 - Last Name, First Name, Patronymic and military rank (for enlisted men –the place of service)
3. For 1881-1917 for officers and generals - Last Name, First Name, Patronymic and approximate time of service; for the rest – the number of the military division or the name of the military institution.
