Help Please??
I have recently identified a family member (Andrew McCann) who enlisted in New York in 1851 and was attached to the Mounted Rifles A Co.
I have found him again re-enlisting in 1856 in San Antonio Texas.
He was finnally sent to Baton Rouge in 1856 where he died and is buried in 1857.
Could anyone please help in telling me what action / service this unit was undertaking from 1851 to 1856.
