My great, Great Grandfather fought in the Mexican War with Gen. Winfield Scott. I am looking for more information about His service.

The Aztec Club online has a database of all known officers who served in the war with Mexico and it does not list Capt. Krack: http://www.aztecclub.com/Mexican_War_Officers_search.php

It would help to know if he was regular Army or a State Volunteer and the name of the state. Scott had several campaigns and had thousands of men under his command as well as being the Military Governor of Mexico City where he had staff.

www.archive.org has old texts with Mexican War information. I just search Mexican War and get lots of results. Also use USGenWeb for the state and county he lived that might have Military databases. Also check with the State Archives/Library for records.

Edit...forgot my usual basic internet search....
Do a Google internet search of "Captain Charles H. Krack" and this is one result:
http://books.google.com/books?id=OYoDAAAAYAAJ&pg=PA219&a...
A book titled" Life Sketches of Government Officers and Members of the Legislature of the ..." on Google Books. He was promoted to Colonel by end if war. It also is his full bio.
