Francis Yoast was discharged due to severe wound received at the battle of Veracruz Mexico. He died on his way home to Bastrop from Goliad, and was buried along side the road only a few miles from home. The grave was lost when the road was widened years later. My records and family stories indicate he did not die in Goliad. I believe his widow Nancy did receive a pension for his service. I will have to dig out the papers to make certain. He was my ggg grandfather.
