I AM REALLY EXCITED TO FIND OTHER PEOPLE SEARCHING FOR RODOLFO FIERRO. ACCORDING TO MY FAMILY TREE RODOLFO FIERRO IS MY GREAT-GREAT UNCLE HE WAS MY PATERNAL GRANDMOTHERS UNCLE ISELA FIERRO SILVA,I KNOW MY GREAT GRANDFATHERS NAME WAS ESTEBAN FIERRO,RODOLFOS BROTHER. THEY ORIGINATED FROM CHIHUAHUA,CHIHUAHUA,MX. IM HAVING TROUBLE FINDING ANYMORE FAMILY RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN RODOLFO FIERRO AND MY GREAT GRANDFATHER ESTEBAN.I DONT KNOW EXACTLY IF MY GREAT GREAT UNCLE RODOLFO, WAS DISTANT FROM HIS FAMILY INCLUDING MY GREAT GREAT GRANDFATHER ESTEBAN. BECAUSE I CANT SEEM TO FIND ANYTHING ON RODOLFOS FAMILY. MOST OF MY GREAT AUNTS (HIS NIECES) THAT LIVED IN CHIHUAHUA HAVE ALREADY PASSED, SO HAS MY FATHER MY CLOSEST CONNECTION TO THE VILLA/FIERRO HISTORY. NOW I HAVE HEARD THE GREAT STORY THAT HE HAD DIED IN QUICKSAND AND THAT HE DIED IN FRONT OF HIS SOLDIERS,BEING LEFT TO DROWN BECAUSE OF THE HATRED THEY HELD FOR HIM.AND THAT HE DIED DROWNING AND SINKING FROM THE GOLD HE HAD IN HIS POCKETS,THESE ALL SEEM LIKE FOLK STORIES JUST TO SOUND MORE INTERESTING.FIRST OF ALL THERE IS NO QUICKSANDS IN MEXICO.
BUT WHILE TRAVELING FOR A BATTLE TO "AGUA PRIETA" THE FAMOUS DEATH OF RODOLFO FIERRO, THEY COME ACRROS TWO RIVERS,ALMOST SIDE TO SIDE BUT IN MEXICO BECAUSE OF THE HEAT THE WATER LEVELS LOWER AND SOMETIMES ONE WATER STREAM WOULD SLIGHTLY FLOW INTO THE OTHER,SO THE MIDDLE BETWEEN THE TWO RIVERS IS VERY VERY MUDDY, AND ALMOST THICK,STICKY CLAY LIKE MUDD. NOW FIERRO BEING THE BRAVE MAN THAT HE WAS,ATTEMPTED TO CROSS IT WITH NO FEAR.THATS WHEN HIS HORSE TRIPPED AND FELL ON HIM,NOW I DONT KNOW IF THE HORSE KILLED HIM OR THE SOLDIERS THAT WERE TRAVELING WITH HIM SHOT HIM. ONCE HIS DEATH WAS ANNOUNCED PANCHO VILLA SENT FOR HIS BODY. THIS IS WHERE THE STORY REALLY BECOMES UNKNOWN.WHAT HAPPENED HIS BODY? NOW FOR A TIME I WAS TOLD THAT HIS BODY WAS BURIED ALONG ONE OF THOSE RIVERS AND THE SOLDIERS MOVED ON TO THE BATTLES. BUT RECENTLY I HAVE HEARD OF THE MEXICAN AUTHOR,DR,RUBEN OSORIO. WHO CLAIMS THAT IN A TRIP TO CHIHUAHUA HE WAS VISITING A LOCAL CEMETERY WHERE HE WAS TOLD RODOLFO FIERRO WAS BURIED HE DIDNT INITIALLY BELIEVE UNTIL FURTHER RESEARCH WAS DONE AND PROVED IT WAS REALLY THE GEN.FIERROS TOMB. NOW HIS TOMB JUST RECENTLY HAD ADDED THE TOMBSTONE WITH HIS NAME.I WOULD LOVE TO VISIT HIM ONE DAY.BUT TIL THEN I JUST WANT TO KNOW WHAT HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH HIS/MY FAMILY WAS LIKE.
I WOULD LIKE TO ADD THAT THERE IS A SONG ABOUT GENERAL RODOLFO FIERRO,A TRADIOTIONAL SONG OF THAT TIME KNOW AS "CORRIDOS DE LA REVOLUCION"

I think he had many women, but some were afraid of saying they were related because of the things he did. Rodolfo Fierro was a murderer..or so the stories say. My great grandmother's name was Daria Fierro. Most of the family was born in Chihuahua Mexico. She was a very cruel woman who would beat her children, of which one was my grandmother. My mother also barely remembers her, and all her memories are bad memories. What I do know is that my grandmother would talk a lot about some buried treasure which she never told the location to anyone, and she would say that when Pancho Villa was coming they would hide all the young women so they wouldnt be taken and raped. I've compared some photos of this Rodolfo Fierro with my grandmother and yes, there is a resemblance. But I think even if we were to be related I wouldnt care much for that man based on all the evil things he did.

Barbara; I guess you are somewhat related to a Fierro. The posting of Luz Corral Fierro caught my attention since my grandfather Jose Fierro was related to Luz Corral and my grandmother Aurelia Saldana Fierro also knew Luz Corral. If anyone out there can help me with some history with the relations it would be appreciated. Also, my grandfather's brother was Manuel Fierro who lived in Chihuahua.

My name is Robert H. Glotzer (Y Fierro). My late mother was Romana Ruffina Fierro Glotzer, Lic. My mom was born in 1918 in Terlingua Texas. My abuela was Manuela Lozano Pinon, Who was around seventeen when my mother was born. My real grandfather was Esteban Fierro was about eighteen or nineteen at the time of my mother's birth. Esteban Fierro was allegedly from Santa Rosalia De Camargo, which is right outside of Delicias, CH. I believe my abuela was from around there too, but I don't know for sure.

Does anybody know any thing about this Esteban Fierro, who was born around 1890 or so? Esteban took off "To fight with Villa" as the legend goes, and my abuela put my mom and my tia Anita into a covered wagon, and drove them to El Paso, where she had relatives. My abuela later married Manuel Pena, and had children named Maria, Salvador, David, Enrique, Ramon, and Esther by him.

The photos of Rodolfo Fierro I have seen look very much like me when I was young and had a lot of hair! I would be grateful for any information about Esteban Fierro. Mil gracias!

Hello:

My mother, the late Romana Ruffina Fierro Glotzer, Lic, was born in 1917 in Terlingua, Texas. Her father was Esteban Fierro, who was from Santa Rosalia de Camargo, which is right outside of Delicias, CH. My Abuela was Manuela Lozano Pinon, and she was about 16 when my my mom was born. Esteban Fierro was about 18. After my tia Anita was born in 1918, Esteban Fierro supposedly went back to Mexico "To fight with Villa", as many men of that time claimed to do. Anyway, he was never seen after that. There is an Esteban Fierro in the Mexican Census of 1930, but he seemed too old to be my grandfather. After Esteban went back to Mexico, he was never seen again, and my abuela moved my mom and Anita to El Paso in a covered wagon, where she had family members. She remarried to Manuel Pena, and had my tios and tias with him named Maria, Esther, Enrique, David, Salvador, and Ramon. Does any of this sound familiar?

what a great story to find! hello my name is priscilla hinostroza. i am 26 years old and i live in california. I also have a Great-Grandfather from Camargo,Ch named Esteban Fierro. He married my great-grandmother Maria Vega, whom he had 5 children with the last being my grandmother Isela Fierro Vega. He is supposedly the brother of Rodolfo Fierro. So I just feel like are two stories and people might have to do with each other.
