VETERAN OF WORLD WAR I

George Edward Gunsallus, who lived with Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Updike, Northwood, died unexpectedly at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Shawley, Grazierville, Sunday at 1:10 p. m. He was born Feb. 22, 1890, at Bald Eagle, the son of Frank and Annabelle Ammerman Gunsallus. He was twice married, first to Bessie Snyder and later to Elva Tucker. Surviving are two sons and two daughters: William F. Gunsallus, Washington, D. C.; James Gunsallus, Tyrone; Mrs. Thelma Fowler, Bellwood; Mrs. Jane Cowher, Tyrone: four brothers: Harry Gunsallus, Watsontown, N.Y.; Toner L. Gunsallus, Mifflinburg; Frank Gunsallus, Altoona: John Gunsallus, Tipton; also eight grand children. He was a veteran of World War I, and a member of the Howard Gardner Post, American Legion. He had been employed by the Interstate Amiesite Company, Tyrone Forge. Funeral services will he held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock in the First Evangelical United Brethren church in charge of the Rev. Budd R. Smith. Burial will he in the Bald Eagle cemetery. Friends will be received at the Updike home, Northwood, after 7 o'clock this evening.
