Iam trying to find information of my Great Grandfather's war record> I was told by my grandmother that her father fought at Gallipoli. My research has shown no information of him or his neighbours on our British files. I was then told that the men from immigrant Italian community in Manchester went back to their native regions to sign up and fight in the Italian military as British Allies.
I am looking for information regarding what regiment etc and how to research further this area from the UK. Thanks
