I must have had double vision I could have sworn the picture was of a bi-plane and of course it was a mono-plane.
The 35 could be the aircraft’s number. I’ve believe fighters and bombers usually had the squadron number on the fuselage and I’ve seen some pictures that had another number after it that may well be the individual aircraft number and there is something before the 35 [11 perhaps].
