Looks like it was taken between c. 1900 and the beginning of the war. Spandau was the garrison for the 5. Garde-Infanterie-Brigade which consisted of 5. Garde-Regiment zu Fuß and Garde-Grenadier-Regiment Nr. 5. This man did not belong to either of these units. I believe Garde-Fußartillerie-Regiment can be ruled out. There was also a Pionier Bataillon and a Train Abteilung and a number of other commands and small units, so it's difficult to say. It's possible he wasn't even from a unit based in Spandau. A useful lead would be the photographer (I'm reading "O. Kasehubec") - finding out where he was located and if there are any other portraits on the Net to see what units are depicted. But a google search is a complete blank.

Might it be...O. Kasehuber. ?

I should have looked a little more closely; the name is KASCHUBEC. There is a composer by the name of Erich Kaschubec from Spandau, b. 1899. When I have some time I will check the Berlin city directory for this time period.
