Hi: Thanks for the reply and input. You and I have comunicated on another sight with questions earlier.
1) I have death cert but it shows "Frastaak",as birth place which I know is incorrect
2) I need to get his final papers. Not sure where they are but someone at Genealogy Forum will know.
3) I know the wife's maiden name but nothing on the marriage. He had a first wife who was the mother of son born in Germany, 1879. The second wife came with him on the ship in 1881. She was mother of 8 kids, my dad being one of them. I have NO info on her. Her death cert just said Germany for her, her father and her mother. I so far have not located her Immigration status. Maybe she was illegal?? Just kidding. But then again, not sure.
As you said, Germany has had so many changes it is almost imposible to put things together. There are records in a lot of these little towns as well as churches, so I understand. I shall continue to hunt. Any thoughts feel free to respond. I live on the west coast so not sure if we have much of a time zone diff. or not.
