Hi Andy,

I'm not sure if any of those Martens are relatives.

Gustav's obituary in 1934 stated that he was a "Franco-German war veteran", so I assumed the medals in his picture were form that war. I could email you the picture so you can take a look at the medals, if you'd like.

I'm not sure on any other military information for him.
