I have an ancestor Joseph Louis Traizet, who was a Sergeant in the French Army, listed as 1st Company of the 1st Battalion of the Infantry Regiment of the army of France in 1824. He was born in Marseilles, France, but married and raised his family in Pasaia which is a village in the Basque territory of Spain. The only military-based record I have of him is the description I listed above which shows up in his marriage certificate in September of 1824 in Spain.

I was wondering if there were records somewhere to track his military career in France and what he was doing in Spain in 1824.
