I am presently looking for information relating to the surname of Pave, Pavy, Pavey, or Pavie. Story goes that my ancestor Guillaume or Gilam Pave was captured by the British and then was sent to the United States as a member of the Independent Company of Foreigners. He then deserted during that battle and subsequently settled in Caroline County, Virginia. Anything could help as I have been researching this for many years and to no avail. I am particularly looking for rosters of the ICF.
