My husband's great grandfather, G.H. Ash, was in Co E & B of 15th Texas Infantry. He enlisted at Fort Hebert on 1 Apr 1862 and was issued a certificate of disability and discharged at Camp [looks like David] near Tyler, TX two months later. Where can I find more information on Fort Hebert and Camp David? G.H. Ash was also listed on a muster roll for the Second Frontier District, Texas State Troops of Coryell Co. dated Feb 1864. Would a soldier discharged for medical reasons enlist again later? Would appreciate any information.
