Bio for James Griffith: The following info from the NC Troops Volume XV Infantry, 62nd,64th,66th,67th, 68th Regiments, (page 14).
Enlisted in Haywood County, at the age of 24. July 11, 1862 for the War. Reported present or accounted for through June 30, 1863. Captured at Cumberland Gap, Tenn. September 9, 1863. Sent to Louisville, Kentucky. Confined at Camp Douglas, Chicago, Ill, September 26, 1863. Pariled at Camp Douglas and transferred to Point Lookout Maryland, Febuary 20-21, 1865 for exchange. Hospitalized at Richmond, Va, March 2, 1865 with chronic diarrhea and debilitas. Furloughed for 30 days on March 13, 1865.
