Army of the Cumberland

Surnames: Fischer, Martin
I have a Civil War letter written by an ancestor. I believe he was from Illinois. In the letter, he describes driving a team with rations to the front line at Chattanooga and Dalton.

Does anyone have any information on where to locate roster lists for the Army of the Cumberland? His mail was sent via Lt. Martin.

Any help is appreciated!

Do You have a regiment? The rosters can be found but AofC is too general if you have his name the park service has a soldier and sailor site or if you have a bit more information about Lt Martin you might be able to make a connection. There may be a resource for Illinios with rosters for all of the units from the state. Please let me know i have some matierial i can research in but i would need at least brigade or regiment to start the search.

The letter asks her to send correspondence to:

Micle Fisher (name could actually be Michael Fischer)
Headers 14th AC
in care of
Leiut Martin
AADM (not sure the D is correct)

Letter was written March 4, 1864 from Chatanooga, TN

He writes "Headers" three times in the letter. I think it might actually be "Head Ers"?

I am new to researching the Civil War, so if you can point me in a direction, that would be incredible! Thank you so much for your time!
