Re: O'Regan Kilfinane Co.Limerick
i am looking for information about William O'Donnell who married Johanna O'Regan on feb. 14,1877 in Kilfinane Parish St. Andrews. from what i can tell he was born in 1853. Johanna was born in 1855. if this is the correct family in 1901 they lived in Ardpatrick -Sunville. their children were John dob 1882,James dob 1886 and Michael dob 1888. i also have a record of a Margaret O'Donnell [dob 1861]married to a Joseph O'Regan [dob 1861]children James[dob1881],Michael[dob1889],john[dobaptism 12/31/1888-sponsors Patrick Halpin and Maria O'Donnell],Thomas [dobaptism 2/26/1880],Willie [dobaptism 5/26/1880-sponsors John Cudmore and hanora O'donnell],Maria[dobaptism 7/1/1874], Helen [dobaptism 7/21/1876], Catherine [dobaptism 8/18/1878],Mary[dobaptism 8/17/1878 sponsors Johanna O'Donnell and Michael o'Regan]. Johanna O'Donnell was also a witness at the wedding of Nora O'Regan and John Fitzgibbon on 2/22/1887. a Marie O'Donnell was the sponsor of Teresa Marie O'Regan on 6/22/1903- she was the daughter of Thomas O'regan and Ellen Barry. i hope some of these O'Donnell names match up with the family you are interested in. let me know Jim regan

Re: O'Regan Kilfinane Co.Limerick
Jim,
I hope you still check this message board! My ggggrandfather was Maurice Roche married to Mary Regan (Co Limerick, I think). At least one son David Roche b abt 1825 probably Limerick but possibly Kerry. Family moved to Castleisland area Co Kerry at some point. Were there late 1840's to early 1860's at least. David m Margaret Walsh in Loughrea, Galway in 1861 they emigrated to New South Wales Australia 1863. Could there be any connection with your Regan family?

Re: O'Regan Kilfinane Co.Limerick
Hi Jim
I've a Tom O Regan 1875-1959 married Minnie O Connell 1874-1960. They had children (including but not limited to!) Jack 1912-1987, and Alice 1914 who I last met about 3/4 years ago. To my knowledge she still lives down the hill in Stookeens toward my own research interest the Leahy's in Tiermor. Minnie O Connell is my Grand Aunt.
I have O Brien in my direct tree and Hennessy in a side branch, happy to exchange leads.
regards
Eoin

Re: O'Regan Kilfinane Co.Limerick
Hi Jim
Sorry about the delay replying, I was waiting to get home to Ireland to look at some (very sketchy) material gathered by my uncle (since deceased). There are no dates in the tree he sketched but some of the names might ring a a bell for you:
Pat O Regan + Cleary have child Tim O Regan. Tim marries Alice Raleigh daughter of a Raleigh and a Mulcahy (Mulcahy remarries a Coffee and they have 4 sons).
Tim O Regan and Alice Raleigh have children: Kate who marries an O Sullivan and have no children; 2 other children go to the USA. The tree is a little confusing here but it seem that Tom who marries Minnie O Connell is also a member of this family who include a sister that marries an O Donnell and goes to USA. This O Donnell couple are indicated as having 3 children: William; and perhaps a nun; and illegible.
I can't find a connection to the O Brien & O Regan couple you mention though the dates are aligned with the generations I am researching. Similarly I have a Thomas Hennessy m Catherine Leahy on 9 Feb 1864 and lived in Killeen Kilfinane. Their descendents are listed in the 1901 census.
best regards
Eoin
