I have some information on the 170th: a photo of the men of my great great grandfather's company seated in front of the Bull Run Blockhouse in the fall of 1863.

Additionally I made the acquaintance of a military historian named Kevin Connolly Ruffner, who provided me with relevant excerpts from a study he did on that area for the Fairfax County Historical Society.

My family has told me a couple of the stories...and now I am very interested in seeing what you have.

Thank you, I look forward to hearing from you soon!!.

Sincerely,

Hello,

I just recently discovered my great grandfather served in company c of the 170th NY heavy artillery. I googled it and found this thread and since it's so old, I was wondering if anyone is out there still...researching this question. I would be interested if there are any old photos, other than the few on line I've seen...stories, etc.

Thanks for any help,
Nancy Sullivan
