Hello,
I am researching a great-uncle of mine. I have found a Congressional record relating to a denied pension for his wife, which states that he was captured and taken to Andersonville and he was there until paroled.
When I looked him up on the Parks Service site/service, I can find no record for him. His surname is uncommon and has a multitude of various spellings, but searching through every result with his first name, too, comes up with nothing. (His name was Frederick FUESZ, and the surname is often recorded in his war records as FEESE, from NY)
I was wondering if this is uncommon at all, or if anyone had any thoughts on whether this means he was likely somewhere else, neither option.
many thanks!
