I can’t help with specific pictures but if you Google for “Lord Strathcona's Horse” and click images you should be able to pick out several with links to other web sites and more images.
Also see
http://www.warmuseum.ca/cwm/exhibitions/boer/strathconahorse... I have the original medal roll for Lord Strathcona’s Horse and there is no soldier listed as Jackson J W, all that’s listed are:
463 Corp Jackson H
382 Pte Jackson C F
80 Pte Jackson W P (has note “lost medal & claps Belfast, Natal & SA 1901 replaced 12/4/17 IV 132”) IV = Issue Voucher
Names confirmed at
http://angloboerwar.com/unit-information/canadian-units/374-... surname Jackson.
If his name was John William, then go to
http://angloboerwar.com/name-search and search for the surname and then page through to J W and John given names to see possible units.
As for a replacement QSA Medal, if he was one of those presented with the QSA by King Edward VII at Buckingham Palace, it is likely to be a very rare version of the QSA with raised dates of 1889 1900 (about 50 issued); search for “british guide queens south africa medal” for more information.
There is an incomplete list of recipients at
http://www.angloboerwar.com/medals-and-awards/british/1876-q... His medal may have been sold and the rarity means they command his prices. I think the best you will achieve at reasonable cost is either a “standard version” of a QSA issued to someone else or a replica; Google for sources, but beware fakes sold as originals.
