My grandfather Hugh Grahame served in this unit and his Queen's South Africa Medal clasps are for Cape Colony, Orange Free State and Transvaal.His medal shows that he was a trooper and the service number was 802.
He was born in Mar 1875 at Port of Menteith in Scotland.
We are trying to find out how he came to be in this unit - would he have joined up in Scotland or was he already in S. Africa. When did he join and what did he do. If anyone has any information that would help in our search we'd be pleased to hear from you.
