John Griffith was rumored to be a drummer boy and was born ca. 1756, in Virginia. He was my 4th gr-grandfather and was married to Anne ( Nancy ) Francis, on 11 December, 1800, in Bourbon County, Ky. I would like to know the names of his parents and/or siblings. He moved with his family to northwest Missouri ca. 1840, and died ca. 1851. Would like any information that someone may provide. Thank you, Dennis

The LDS Index has John L. Griffith B. 1774 and his marriage to Anne Nancy Francis was in 1819 in Bourbon Ky. There was no info on the Mothers or Fathers nore Children.

Dennis, John and Nancy Griffith are both buried beside a large pine tree in Fillmore Cemetery, Andrew County, MO. The Daughters of the American Revolution have put DAR markers on both graves in memory of the families sacrifice. I have a large number of family there, and every Memorial Day put small flowers and a nice size flag on their graves. Also there is a DAR chapter in Nodaway County, MO named for him, The John Griffith Chapter. You might be able to contact them, just google Daughters of the American Revolution, and try to find a listing for Missouri chapters.
