Abner Ramage, Chester Co Militia
Here is what I have found on Abner so far:
Captain Hugh Reed’s 7th Battalion, 5th Company—Thornbury under Lieutenant Colonel George Pierce.
Captain Thomas Taylor’s Seventh Battalion, Eighth Company—Westtown.
Captain Mordai Morgan Junr’s 2nd Company, 2nd Battalion—Radnor Township under Lieutenant Colonel Jno. Bartholomew Esqr.
Captain Hezekiah Camp’s 2nd Company, 4th Battalion under Colonel Richard Willing.
Captain Thomas Carpenter’s 1st Company, 3rd Battalion—Newtown.
We are trying to locate his grave site, or any other information than what we have above. He is thought to have died in 1827 in Springhill Twp, Fayette Co. PA He had a son Samuel, and thought to have another son James and daughter Susannah. His wife was Jemima Thatcher. We don't have access to 3fold, I am reluctance to pay for access as I don't think there is much on there that we don't already know. Thank you for any assistance.

Re: Abner Ramage, Chester Co Militia
If you have not visited the USGenWeb and PA-Roots sites for Fayette County, you should do so for a look at the many cemetery readings.
It is quite possible that if there were originally a gravestone, it has not survived acid rain, vandals, or just having fallen and gotten buried by soil and sod or destroyed by a tree. Many were buried on their home farms, not necessarily marked with a durable stone.
You will want to check estate, land, court and tax records.

Re: Abner Ramage, Chester Co Militia
Thank you for the suggestions. I have checked both sites, and ran thought them one more time just to make sure. There is an Abner, but much younger than my Abner. Hard to say for sure whether or not they were buried in a cemetery or on their land.
I am also looking for Abner's son Samuel. He died in 1829 in Franklin Twp, Fayette Co. I have found a petition for inquest, showing his eldest son Jonathan selling off his land after Samuels wife passed. He moved west in the 1850's with westward expansion. Though its no real proof, given their religious background and the idea that he may have known the land would be sold I would think they would not have laid him to rest on their property. I am not able to find either of their wives. I need to work on tracking down their church as well. I also know Samuel had a will, it was used in a DAR application in the early 1900's for a woman that used Abner to Samuel to one of his daughters, all I have is a date, but have been unable to find it. This may give some insight as well.
Again, thank you for the ideas, I am rather new to this, but have had excellent success so far, any other tips that may help would be greatly appreciated.
