Hi . I am seeking any info on my gggggrandfather Donald McDonell who was settled in NY Mohawk Valley prior to 1775 , and joined the King George III forces on August 18 1777 and was discharged from same on August 25 1777 presumbly due to the wounds he suffered at siege of Fort Stanwix NY . His widow and young daughter resettled in Glengarry Upper Canada [Ontario] and descendents continue there today . Anyone doing research on the large group of McDonell who settled on Sir John Johnson Estate at Johnstown NY , may be of help . Thanks in Advance.
