I have been looking for years to find some evidence proving an old family story about a Campbell ancestor in the Battle of Trenton. The story is that a soldier surnamed Campbell(Robert or Lewis possibly) was among the very few of Washington's troops injured in the battle. He later died in 1778 from the wounds he suffered. His child, in my family tree, was George Campbell, b. 3 Jan 1778 in New Jersey and d. 1854 in Adams Co., Ohio. Is there anyone who has studied this battle and has information like muster lists, troop lists, etc.? Any good leads would be appreciated.
