Looking for information on Salathiel MARTIN, perhaps the son of Joseph MARTIN & brother of John C. "Colonel Jack" MARTIN of Revolutionary War fame. Family was located in Surry Co., NC. Salathiel believed to hold the rank of Captain in the NC Militia.

Another possible brother mentioned was Obadiah MARTIN.

Would appreciate ANY information on Salathiel and/or Obadiah MARTIN of NC.

Salathiel moved to Claiborne County, Tennessee; about 1795, with his wife, Mary Cook. Salathiel had two known brothers that served under him in the Revolution, Obediah and Joseph. They were sons of David Martin and Mary Mann. The pension file of Mary Martin, in Claiborne County, TN, is very lengthy and gives good information about Salathiel, who died in Claiborne County in 1828.
