Does anyone know where I can find out more about Col Hazen's Regiment? I know it was Canadian and recruited more members in Penn and NY.
My ancestor John Barr served in his regiment. I was hoping to find where he entered service in PA and where he was discharged. All the info I have of him is in his 1820 pension file.

The DAR Index has four with his name who served from PA. One of them received a pension:

Service: PA
Death: PA 22 Aug 1833
Patriot Pensioned: Yes
Widow Pensioned: Yes
Children Pensioned: No
Heirs Pensioned: Yes

Is this him? You can purchase a copy of a woman's approved application http://www.dar.org but I don't know if it will have the info you are looking for.

Thanks for looking. Unfortunatly this is not him. I've gone over the books with the local DAR and my John is not yet entered in the books. I'm trying to finish up my paperwork so that he can be entered.

They moved to OH from PA around 1818 with a government land grant to the military district in Tuscarawas Co OH. Paperwork says he was from Washington Co PA. I do not have his place of birth, or his wife's maiden name.

Sherry, Ray Barr Here, I have run across your John Barr many times in my research...Hazens Regiment was known as "Congress's Own" Regiment...Your Soldier may have entered service in Delaware....I will try to find an answer for you....raylbarr@comcast.net....Ray
