Please let me know if any readers have information on James TOMLINSON, a First Lieutenant in the Cumberland County, New Jersey Militia during the Revolutionary War. Lt. Tomlinson served in Captain Bennett's Company, Lt. Col Enos Seeley's Battalion.
I believe that James TOMLINSON was the great-grandfather or grandfather of my G-G-G grandfather, George TOMLINSON (who married Amanda P. Titsworth) of Shiloh, Cumberland County, New Jersey. Thanks and happy holidays.

Surnames: Tomlinson, Brown
He is my 6th Great Grandfather. He was married to Barbara Brown (his 1st wife and my 6th Great Grandmother) and had Samuel Tomlinson. I'm doing research on James' revolutionary war history but haven't gotten far yet. Check out the SAR or DAR web pages for more information about James. Good luck!

You will not find very much because it appears that he only served a couple of months as did his son Samuel.
