In the current Tarvin Family newsletter there is an article
" I've recently had correspondence from a descendant of Martha Tarvin, daughter of Richard Tarvin and Elizabeth Dent. This Martha, sister to George (father of Reverend George) and William, who went to Georgia, married a Joseph Noble and moved their family of eight in the mid 1700's into a part of Western Virginia that was later claimed by Pennsylvania.
Martha and Joseph produced a large family of Nobles which are all distant Tarvins. Martha may also have been an aunt of Reverend George who, according to family lore, disowned him when he became a Dunkardl Yet it seems the Anglican Nobles had riligious dissention in their own ranks, for one of Martha's sons married Catholic sisters (not nuns, nor at the same time, of course), unions which resusled in a laarge Catholic Branch of that family.
I have updated the Tarvin web site to reflect the new information we have received.
As it turns out, the LDS Church's Ancestral File, now online at
www.familysearch.org. does show decendancies of both Geore and Martha in the family of Richard Tarvin and Elizabeth Dent. If anyone noticed this before, no one told me about it.
SO the family Grows as we discover cousins who were there all along.
