I know that J. Wiley married Mary Jane Hooper/Householder. They had 4 children, Ida, Frances Robert, and Effie. Effie Jeanette was my moms mother and the most precious woman I ever knew besides my own mom. She died when I was 11 years old. But Mary had a child from a previous marriage with James Hooper (which was on the Sultana with Wiley). Apparently, Hooper didn't make it and Wiley went to meet Hoopers family and ended up marrying her and being the guardian to her child. Was that child your grandfather by any chance? Because I never heard of Paul. Is Paul the son of James Hooper and Mary Jane? Adopted by James Wiley?
