If I understand you question correctly, you would take your MAC files and make a GEDCOM file. This file can be used on any PC by restoring the file from the backup. If you are speaking about MAC files (any kind) there are programs out there that make the make work like a PC. The programs are called PC emulators. I personally have not used them as I am a PC user, but I have a friend who works exclusively on a MAC and we exchange data files all the time. She has to be working in the PC emulator for me to be able to read her word files etc. The GEDCOM can be used universally on any computer regardless of their OS. The GEDCOM only needs to have a Genealogical program running on the computer.
