GEDCOM export to FTDNA--nothing before 1500?

GEDCOM export to FTDNA--nothing before 1500?

I recently exported my Ancestry.com family tree and imported it at FTDNA, but at FTDNA nothing earlier than about 1500 shows up.

Is this a known issue? If so, does anyone happen to know if this is a limit on the Ancestry.com side or on the FTDNA?

A GEDCOM file is a text file that can be viewed with any text editor such as Notepad in a Windows environment. One thing you can do is look at the actual GECOM coding and see if anything is there. You could use a find function to search for a name and see what dates are present. If it's in the file, it's an FTDNA issue; if not, it's an Ancestry issue.

FTDNA is the commercial FamilyTreeDNA outfit, right? Are GEDCOMs uploaded as part of the surname projects?
