Thanks.....I haven't downloaded anything yet as was just checking what gave me the most for my money I guess and which was easier to use and with what features. I have previously used FTM 2009 for my laptop. This was good but one of the biggest drawbacks I found was when I downloaded my online tree from Ancestry.co.uk to the software, whilst the events came across and the source citation, the actual source itself didn't so I couldn't click on the tree member and see the attachments! I now have a MacBook and came across the FTM Mac 3 App in the Apple Store whilst browsing. Unfortunately it had very few reviews so clicked through the link to the Ancestry website and there I saw the FTM for Mac V3 at the higher price.
The other contributor to this thread said the difference appeared to be the 6 month subscription to the website which isn't that big a deal for me, just wanted to know the strengths of each or if indeed they are the same. I must admit the iPad app is good but would like to be able to generate reports and tree diagrams if you understand.
Thanks for the help
