Would synching mean that you would have the same LIVING PERSON data online as on FTM. NOT a good idea. There are privacy concerns and you are putting people at risk of identity theft.
Do you realize that Ancestry has rights to your data? Read the upload agreement. Is that what you want?
If it is for the purpose of back up, there are many more efficient ways to back up - an external hard drive, CD's or DVD'S are examples.
There are more secure ways to share data with close relatives.
The Generations Network, owners of Ancestry.com have enough issues to fix with Ancestry and Family Tree Maker without getting into a project involved in a project such as this. If they can't handle developing a quality and complete software upgrade, how can they possibly handle something more technologically challenging and extremely costly to develop. Don't add it to my subscription cost!
