Actually, the maintenance time would probably be more. If the change were to have roles, they need to be sorted out and probably a separate database. There would definitely have to be a separate database for people assigned to events (the preacher / best man at the wedding and the executor of a will, etc) who are not in your database as a person you want to genealogically follow. And, probably more complications.
