I've been able to download the software, but I'm not able to activate the product. I have very carefully put in the license number and tried several times to activate, but continue to receive the message "serial number not found." I called what I thought was the appropriate customer number, waited about 20 minutes only to be told that they couldn't help me, and I was given another number. I waited for those folks who checked my numbers and told me everything was correct from their end of things, so they couldn't help me either. Next, I was turfed off to a tech support line, and after a 30-minute wait I finally gave up. I am so not a happy camper right now!
It's now Friday, and after a night of rest, I plunged into the fray again. Nova tech support insists they cannot help me, and referred me to the first number I called yesterday, However, Nova did send me a direct link and a new serial number. I re-downloaded the software and put in the new serial number. Guess what? Same problem.
Later on Friday: Back to Ancestry.com (800-262-3787). Nice person who sympathized, consulted with her supervisor, made sure I was using IE, told me to go back to Nova tech support, and to be very firm with them, because this is definitely their job to fix the problem. Now to Nova tech support (888-722-4431) where they brought up my file when I gave them my case number. Told me I really should be doing this by email but they would make an exception and not charge me a fee this time. Insisted this is not their issue and gave me a different customer service number at Ancestry (800-361-8556). Sent me an email with a new link for downloading and a new serial number (my third serial number so far.) So I downloaded from the new link. Put in the new serial number. Got the same result when I tried to activate product - "Serial number not found."
