My Grandmother, Mary Benko, was 10 years old when she was enroute to Ellis Island in 1903 when her boat (?) sank and she & her sister & uncle along with many others (If not all) were rescued and transported to Ellis Island in the cargo bay by another ship.. She was born 10/24/1893 in Roznava, Slovakia. She spent her life in Ohio and married John Plachko at age 15 and had nine children and many grandchildren.
