Classification: Query
Surnames: Crighton;Creighton; Hall
Happy New Year Nancy, Jim & all. I've come across another ship captained by a Creighton, forename not stated. This is the Rose, barque, 421 tons, registered in Halifax, date unknown but visited Sydney with Hall master in 1830s from whaling grounds.

With Creighton master arrived Sydney 15 Jan 1845, left 19 Feb 1845 to whaling grounds; returned 27 Feb 1845 with chief officer sick & two boats stove in; left for whaling grounds 5 March 1845.

Source: site "Convictions, Australian Shipping 1788-1968".

Not to be confused with another Rose, Nantucket whaler, ship, 356 tons, WB Swain master, in the Pacific, 1842-1846, log in PMB microfilm 385.

Best wishes, Bess
