i have been researching the same history for several years now. The New York Times has reports of the jewellery stolen from passengers on the "San francisco" and those rescued on the "Three Bells."
Margaret Parker identified some of the jewellery and belonging to the Taylors. She described herself as employed by them. As almost everyone (saving only 2 men) who was on the saloon deck of the "San Francisco" was swept off with the huge wave, I expect she was below decks at the time, as she would be if she were an employee. She was under oath when she IDd the jewels.
