While I have not read these books, I feel that the repeated use of The Crucible in the schools also distorts facts about our ancestors - I am a descendant of John Proctor and Elizabeth Thorndike. I find it highly offensive that our ancestors are treated in this manner, and the students are not told that this is fiction and not the way things really happened. By the way, your username caught my eye, my maiden name is Hopkins, so I'm researching there as well. :-)
