I am the niece a zillion times removed of two of these "so-called" witches, lol, and I too would prefer accuracy in portraying my ancestors. The only thing we can do to honor their memory is to make sure, when their story is told, it's not a bunch of crap. I know what fiction is, btw, but, when you throw out an actual persons name, dead or alive, and you even l o o s e l y connect that person to an actual event from their life then it kind of makes the fiction/slander part a gray area. For example, if you wrote a book about Jackie O. being a crack whore after JFK got shot, I'm pretty sure someone in that family (whether you call it fiction, or not)will find a way to sue you even though she is deceased. There is nothing wrong with feeling protective of an ancestral name/person. They are your blood and you wouldn't be here without them. There is also nothing wrong with being a lawyer. If these people had a good one they may not have been hanged.
