But many people are not looking specifically for cemetery records, but just about anything they can find about a given ancestor -- people who go to Rootsweb.com or Ancestry.com & just enter the search term "Alice Green" and follow everything that comes up, but maybe don't know enough to try other search methods. Another poster yesterday posted some particular techniques that would make Allen's posts accessible, but one would have to _know_ those techniques to be successful -- and I would bet that a lot of people don't.
Anyway... I've just sent a private message to Allen that includes a proposal for making all previously posted names searchable, and I will hope for his reply.
I feel very badly I didn't simply approach him directly in the first place. My apologies to him, and to everyone; and my thanks to all of you who came quickly to his defense.
