Abuse reports...

All of a sudden (perhaps because the abuse reports are now working) I've been getting quite a few requests to delete posts because "the information in the post is inaccurate." The requests are coming from other researchers and not the original posters.

I've been deleting these for several reasons: 1) I'm not the accuracy police and 2) I have no way of knowing whether or not the person filing the abuse report is correct and 3) the original poster owns his post and another person doesn't have the right (nor to I) to remove it as long as it doesn't violate board guidelines or rules.

In addition to deleting the requests I've been emailing the person who filed the abuse reports letting them know that if they have concerns about the posts' accuracy they should reply ON the board to the posts with the corrected info.

I just wanted to post here in case other admins had concerns about how to handle this type of situation.
