If it was up to me we would have stayed home but, my husband looks forward to the reunions so we made the 3 hour comute. My guess is we had about half the people we had last year and it was the rain that did keep them away. We met a cousin my husband hasn't seen in years. Every year someone comes from a different part of the world this year a Poland cousin. The past couple of years we had Heare cousins. Before that we were honored to have the daughter of geneologist Jack Poland. We usually hang our computer generated tree which has more than 2800 names 4 1/2 wide by 56 feet long. It started to be just a close family Poland tree, then we met the Polands from the brother of our lineage and then we were introduced to the Poland-Heare reunion - - this tree is now more or less a tree reflecting the beginning and decendants of the Poland and Heares. Certainly a tree of many branches. I was surprised that we had as many show up because of the rain. We usually hang the tree on the outside of the church - - because of the rain we had to hang the tree on the inside of the church. No one minded and they all had a better chance to view it. We are always glad to share our information. How are you related to the Polands or Heares? Sorry you missed the reunion. We all had a good time and needless to say we traveled in the rain afterwards.
