It appears you have been looking for several years, for your research on the Kentch family line. I have only been researching the line for one year, so I am real novice. My grandmother was Abbie Elizabeth Kentch. Jonathon Burrell Kentch was her grandfather. Most of the time he referred to himself as Burrel Kentch and in the 1870 census, he is listed a blind farmer. Their family had moved to Kansas from Missouri, but for some reason in 1861, they went up to Iowa, (probably the Civil War) where George Francis, my great grandfather was born. My research leaves me feeling that Jonathon Kencth born <1794> was the third or possibly a second generation Kentch. It seems there are quite a few of our Kentch descendents living in Iowa. Jonathon (66) and Charles Kentch (Burrell's brother) lived there at that time. Civil war records sort of indicate that most of the Kentch's alliegence was with the Union, so they fought for the North. The first Kentch immigrant that I'm aware of was a cabin boy or a stow away from England during the period <1750>. Another family of Kentch's arrived from Germany in the early 1800's.
