My grandmother was Julia Sheffey Collins originally from Cripple Creek, Virginia. She married Royal David Collins, moved to Abbs Valley, Virginia and raised her family . Her grandfather was Robert Sayers Sheffey. I remember her talking about her sister Ada and it seems to me that Ada lived in Ohio? I remember conversations about the Groseclose family and we would visit Uncle Ernest and Aunt Martha when we had our family reunions out at the old schoolhouse. I enjoyed the book about Robert Sayers Sheffey - The Saint of The Wilderness, although grandma told us some of the stories a little differently. Our grandfather passed away in 1950 so most of us were unable to get to know him - but our Grandma Julia Sheffey Collins was a wonderful grandmother.. (The movie "Saint Of The Wilderness", by Bob Jones University in South Carolina was really good - it was shown at the Church of God in Bluefield,WV) I have also viewed it several times on tv. There are still lots of relatives in the Bluefield, Virginia area.
