Quite a few people have been inquiring about a Kettenring/Catron/Ketron etc. family reunion. It has been 5 or 6 years since we have had one, so I thought I might try to get one organized, if, I have enough response from people who are interested in coming. As most of you probably know, it takes a good bit of work to get a reunion organized, so I don't want to spend the time & energy (of which I have very little these days) on this endeavor, if we are only going to have a handful of people interested.

The last few times when we had a Kettenring family reunion, although we had several folks in attendance, most of them were from the local area and not many from out the state, or the county, for that matter. I would hope to change that this time and get folks to come from all over the country. In fact, if any of you know descendants that still live in Germany, that you would like to invite, that would be great as well.

So here is the tentative plan. This reunion will be for all decendants and allied families of the Kettenring/Kettering/Ketring/Cattron/Catron/Ketron/Katron (and all other spellings of the name)family, Since my direct line ancestors wound up in Sullivan County, Tennessee, and since that is where I grew up and still have family and friends, that is where I would propose that we hold it. Since it is too late to plan it for this year, I also propose to have this next summer (2003), preferably before it gets to hot. I am open to suggestions on a time etc. My thoughts are maybe to hold this over a two day weekend and to have one day, or part of a day set aside for those of you who want to swap genealogy information. The other day would be for socializing, eating, and getting acquainted and reacquainted with others in attendance, etc.

As all of you know, all of this will take funding. As it would not be fair for one or two people to pay for the cost of a reunion, we would need to take donations to pay for the cost. so with this in mind, please e-mail, write or phone me and let me know if you are interested and willing to
share in the cost, and any other suggestions that you might have regarding a time, or other suggestions about any other activities that you would like have at the reunion.

I will wait to hear from all of you and will get back to you again to let you know what kind of response we have had & to make further plans.
